Silver Train appears to be looking over at his successful band of global runners
Silver Ocean posted his 4th victory in his 20 race career at Taby outside of Stockholm in the featured Swedish Open Mile Stakes on the turf. Silver Ocean was bet down to 1:1 odds by the time the gates opened and prevailed over a field of 8 foes beating te 2:1 second favorite Tertullus and third place finisher Maltho.
Silver Ocean out of Endless Sea by Mt. Livermore joins a growing list of Silver Train runners who have exceeded 20 career starts, as this third year sire continues to demonstrate his ability to produce versatile, durable runners who are winning on dirt, turf, and synthetic surfaces in sprints up to 9 furlongs in races on a worldwide basis. In fact, two of his top three money winners are running overseas, with Silver Ocean, who races throughout Europe and Dubai, now number two, passing A Shin Basara, based out of Japan who is now in 3rd. Given current exchange rates, Silver Ocean’s first place purse of 400,000 Swedish krona is worth $34,706 bringing his career earnings to $251,347 vs. A Shin Basara at $234,918. This makes for a great international weekend for Silver Train with Beautiful Sunday winning The Detroit at the Macau Jockey Club on Friday night, besting a field of 13 males for her 2nd win in 6 starts to go with 1 second and 3 thirds to give her 100% at hitting the board. Her first 5 races were at Santa Anita.
Today’s win by Silver Ocean continues what is a strong 4 year old campaign. He has 7 starts, 2 firsts, 2 seconds and one third for earnings of $101,965 in 2012.
