Beautiful Sunday spent her three year campaign racing at Santa Anita in Arcadia, California. This striking filly out of Viaperviat (IRE) by Spectrum (IRE) compiled a very respectable record hitting the board in all of her maiden special weight starts and winning on her 5th try. Her record was 5 1 1 3 with earnings of $62,640 running mile races on the turf.
After this promising start, her owner and breeder, Norman Cheng, exported Beautiful Sunday to Macau, taking up residence at the Macau Jockey Club. She made her debut a memorable one. Going against 13 rivals, all males, on the dirt track in a flat out sprint race at 1050 meters (5.2 furlongs) in the Friday night featured race-The Detroit-she won going away in a brilliant finish winning by 4.5 lengths missing breaking the 8 year old track record by .1 second. The purse was 295,000 Macau Patacas or about 37,000 USD. This looks to be the beginning of a successful career racing in Asia.
In the meantime, her current statistics are quite impressive: 6 2 1 3 with earnings of approximately $85,000 and is 100% in hitting the board.
